On this week’s edition of The Theater of Public Policy, we’re bringing two Hennepin County Commissioners to the stage to finally answer the question: “What is it you all do, anyways?” (Hint: it’s way more than you think).

Sketches of Minnesota is where comedy meets community. With Freeborn County Communities Foundation, we’re bringing this live, one-of-a-kind show to Freeborn County, MN, featuring improv inspired by conversations with locals.

Less than halfway through 2026, Minneapolis has already had a whirlwind year — and the struggles seem far from over.

This live show will feature a dynamic onstage conversation with Mayor Jacob Frey and City Council President Elliott Payne, moderated by Danger Boat’s own Tane Danger. Afterwards, we’ll bring up some of the funniest folks in the Twin Cities to shine a new light on the conversation through the art of improvised comedy. Civic engagement has never been so fun!

The craft beer boom of the 2010s has been hampered by a global pandemic, fewer people consuming alcohol, and most recently, the disruption of Operation Metro Surge and the threat of THC regulation. Can our beloved beer scene weather the storm, or is the Land of Ten Thousand Lagers drying up?
