Position Overview

This senior-level role is an exciting opportunity to help communicate for one of the most dynamic theater and creative production companies in Minnesota. We’re looking for a creative, organized, and audience-focused Marketing Manager to lead all marketing and communications efforts and help shape the voice of Danger Boat. This role will drive two primary goals: generating B2B sales for our product offerings and building audience attendance for our live engagements.

The successful candidate will have proficiencies:

  • Communicating across a variety of platforms to general audience to drive attendance

  • Drafting different digital and print marketing materials with strong calls to action

  • Proactively building systems and solving organizational bottlenecks

  • Understanding the needs of multiple different client industries including government, nonprofit, healthcare, Foundations, and corporations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Marketing & Analytics

  • Manage organizational newsletters and email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp

  • Track performance using Google Analytics, CRM tools, and social platform insights

  • Provide actionable analysis of campaign results and audience engagement

  • Support SEO and website updates for ongoing visibility and discoverability

2. Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Plan, develop, and execute a multi-channel content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms

  • Write captions, apply SEO/hashtag strategies, and tailor content per platform

  • Create or coordinate reels, shorts, graphics, and other visual assets

  • Monitor, engage, and grow our online community

3. Content Creation & Brand Voice

  • Write and edit accurate, engaging content aligned with our brand tone and mission

  • Collaborate with co-founders on messaging and editorial strategy

  • Produce short-form videos highlighting our work; script, film, and edit

  • Ensure all content meets accessibility and editorial standards

4. B2B Marketing & Sales Support

  • Create targeted outreach campaigns for prospective organizational clients

  • Develop compelling proposals, decks, and presentations to drive workshop sales

  • Support lead generation and nurturing through email, LinkedIn, and digital tools

5. Media & PR

  • Cultivate media relationships and pitch stories about our work

  • Draft and distribute press releases and outreach materials

  • Maintain press kits and contact lists

6. Design & Visual Communications

  • Design graphics for internal and external promotion, including events, social media, and email

  • Maintain consistent branding across all materials

  • Coordinate photo/video shoots as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • 2–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, Canva, Google Workspace, and major social platforms

  • Experience creating social media content including video

  • Basic familiarity with analytics tools and SEO

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience marketing in the arts, entertainment, or nonprofit sectors

  • Graphic design or video editing skills

  • Knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)

  • Understanding of best practices for digital content across a variety of platforms
